**In short:** Add Attensira's MCP server to Cursor with the one-click link or a three-line .cursor/mcp.json, then sign in from Settings → MCP. Cursor can then read which AI answers cite the page you are editing, which rivals are named instead, and hand the crew a fix. With OAuth the file holds only a URL, so it is safe to commit.

## What it showed on attensira.com (read 2026-10-04)

Asked in Cursor: "Is the pricing page I'm editing cited in AI answers?"

Call: `get_page url="https://www.attensira.com/pricing" days=30`

Cited, but almost only by ChatGPT, and almost only for one question: what AI search visibility costs to start.

| Row | Value | Note |
| --- | --- | --- |
| All answers that cite it | 44 of 4,518 | |
| ChatGPT | 1.8% | n = 2,346 answers |
| Perplexity | 0.05% | n = 2,172 answers, 1 citation |
| "AI search visibility starting price" | 38.5% | of 109 answers to that prompt cite the page |

_The question you ask while the file is open._

## What can Cursor tell you about the page you are editing?

- Read which AI answers cite the page you have open, on which engine and for which tracked prompts, without leaving the editor.
- See who is named instead of you on a prompt, and the sources those answers were built from, before you rewrite a passage.
- Hand the crew a fix in a sentence with ask, or approve what is already waiting in your Inbox, from the same chat.
- Commit a project-level .cursor/mcp.json so every collaborator gets the server and signs in as themselves.

## How do I connect Cursor?

1. **Add the server, by link or by file** The one-click install link opens Cursor and prompts you to add the server. It writes the URL and nothing else, with no key, and nothing is read or transmitted. By hand, create .cursor/mcp.json in the project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json for every project.
2. **Reload and sign in** Reload Cursor and open Settings → MCP. The entry shows as needing authentication, which is the expected state. Click through it, sign in to Attensira, approve, and the tools fill in.
3. **Keep the file secret-free** With OAuth the file holds a URL and nothing else; Cursor keeps the token in its own storage. If you must use a key, use the environment-variable form. A key pasted into a committed config is a leaked key.
4. **Check it with get_account** Ask Cursor to call get_account. It lists the workspaces the connection reaches, the credit balance, the scopes and the platforms really measured. With several workspaces, name one in your request.

## What doesn't Cursor change?

- A signed-in connection always carries read and write: there is no read-only consent. Restrict what Cursor may do with its tool allow-list, or use a read-only API key instead.
- Cursor does not change how the crew ships. Work it asks for follows your workspace's approval mode, and anything stating a price, a number or a competitor's name waits for a person.
- A page edit you make in Cursor is not measured until enough answers have been read after it ships. The first re-read comes at +7 days; one day of readings proves nothing.

### What did Cursor show about our pricing page?

The page works, narrowly. Nearly every citation came from ChatGPT, and nearly all of those from one question: what AI search visibility costs to start. Perplexity read the same questions and cited the page once.

### What do you do with a page that works for one question?

Keep it intact. That reading is a different editing brief from "the page is not cited": the passage that answers the starting-price question already works on one engine, so the job is to protect it and earn the rest, not to rewrite the page from the top. Ask which sources decide the questions where it is not cited (`deciding_sources`), and change the page around the passage that works.

### Is it Cursor or the server when the tools list stays empty?

`https://mcp.attensira.com/healthz` answers without a credential. If it answers and Cursor still shows no tools, the problem is the entry or the sign-in, not the server, and the fix is in Cursor's MCP settings rather than in Attensira.

## FAQ

### What does the one-click install link do?

It opens Cursor and prompts you to add the server, writing the URL and nothing else. No key is involved, and the link itself reads and transmits nothing.

### Is it safe to commit .cursor/mcp.json?

With OAuth, yes: the file holds a URL and no secret. With a static key it is not. Treat a pushed key as public, revoke it under Settings → Your assistant and mint a new one.

### Can I add Attensira for every project instead of one?

Yes. Put the same file at ~/.cursor/mcp.json instead of in the project. A project file travels with the repository; a home-directory file follows you.

### The entry says it needs authentication. Is something wrong?

No, that is the expected state after adding it. Click through, sign in, approve, and the tools appear.

### Can one Cursor entry reach several workspaces?

Yes. The connection reaches every workspace your organisation owns, and every workspace tool takes an optional project. get_account lists the ids; name the workspace in your request when there is more than one.

### Does reading from Cursor cost credits?

No. Reading numbers Attensira has already collected is free, however often you ask. Only tools that start agent work, such as ask, run_automation and add_prompts, spend credits; the MCP tool reference lists every one.

## Sources

Each entry below is one claim on this page. `retrieved` is the date the exporter or a human last saw the source say this, and nothing more: it is not a publication date and not a promise of re-verification. `cite` is the anchor on the canonical page where this claim is rendered.

### cursor-deeplink-url-only

Attensira's connect documentation states that its Cursor install link writes the URL and nothing else, with no key, and that nothing is read or transmitted.

### cursor-repo-config-leak

Attensira's connect documentation states that a key pasted into a configuration file inside a repository is a leaked key and should be assumed public once pushed, revoked, and replaced.

### mcp-org-wide-connection

Attensira's MCP overview states that the credential names the organisation and that every workspace tool takes an optional project, so one connection reaches every workspace the organisation owns.
