> How developers and specifiers ask AI for contractors, why public tenders change the picture, and what a construction firm should publish to be named.

Developers, specifiers and facilities managers now ask AI who builds what they need, at their scale, where they are. Attensira reads those answers every day, finds the pages that decide them, and its crew of AI agents drafts the project, capability and bonding facts that get your firm named. Claims wait for your approval.

## What does an AI answer say when a client asks who builds it?

Answers name firms whose pages show comparable projects with their size, year and location. The Writer drafts the project page from your records; a project's value and dates wait for your approval.

- Buyer question: “design and build contractor for a warehouse”

## Why do AI answers matter in construction?

Most construction work is private or below the public tender thresholds, and there a client, a specifier or a main contractor still researches firms before a shortlist exists. That research now includes asking an assistant. Three facts about the sector shape what it can find.

- Large public work is advertised: Above the threshold, buyers find contractors through their own published notice, not your website. Your site matters below the line, and for the shortlist before a notice goes out.
- Bonding decides who can bid: Bonding capacity changes who should call you, and few firms state it. A plain page with your bonding limit, licences and typical project sizes answers the eligibility question.
- A market of many firms: With no national brand layer, answers are about who does this work, at this scale, in this place. Project pages with location, size and type give an assistant something to match.

## What does a real reading look like?

The frames above are illustrations for a construction business. This one is real: our own workspace, for a buyer question that names who is asking, “AI search visibility for agencies”. Engines built those answers from the sites in the chart and cited attensira.com in none of them. Your first reading looks the same, for your buyers’ questions: the sites to get onto, and where you stand.

## Where do you start?

The order the work usually goes in for a construction business.

- Measured: Before and after each step, on the same questions
- Claims: Wait for your approval at every autonomy level
- Undo: For 30 days after a change ships

[How autonomy levels work, in the docs](https://docs.attensira.com/agent/autonomy-levels)

See whether AI names your firm for the projects you build, then let the crew draft the project pages.

## What does the crew do for a construction business?

The crew works from the questions your clients ask an assistant, read every day, and from the pages that decide the answers. Every new page, and anything stating a number, a price or a claim, waits for your approval.

- Project pages that can be quoted: The Writer drafts one page per completed project type: what was built, the scale, the sector, the year and the constraints. Specifiers reason by precedent, and a precedent without a scale cannot be used.
- Eligibility facts, stated plainly: Certifications held, the geography you actually serve, bonding capacity and the work you decline go on a page an assistant can read. Anything that states a number waits for your yes.
- Listings and trade directories: When an answer leans on a directory or trade list you are missing from, the crew drafts the listing or the pitch, sent from your own mailbox after you approve it.
- Who is named instead, and why: For each question you lose, the Researcher names the firms the answer chose and the pages it read, so the work goes where the answer is decided.

## What should you check first?

A list to run against your own site and listings before any work starts.

- Run it against: Your site, and the listings and directories about you
- When: Before the first change ships

### What makes construction hard

- A homepage of photos and adjectives answers no question an assistant is asked.
- Project pages rarely state the scale, sector and year, so precedent cannot be quoted.
- Recruitment and client pages share one site and serve neither well.

## Questions about AI visibility in construction

### Does AI visibility matter if our big contracts are tendered?

Yes, below the threshold and in the private market, which is most work by volume. Above the EU works threshold (EUR 5,404,000 from 1 January 2026) the buyer must advertise, but prequalification, framework selection and subcontractor choice still involve someone researching firms first.

### What should a contractor publish to be named by AI?

Capability in checkable terms: completed project types with scale, sector and year; certifications and bonding capacity; the geography you serve; and the jobs you decline. Those are the facts an assistant needs to match a firm to a question.

### Will Attensira publish anything about our firm without us?

No. New workspaces start in Draft, so nothing leaves the workspace until you approve it, and anything that states a number, a price or a competitor's name waits for your yes in every mode.

### Is pricing different for construction firms?

No. Every industry uses the same plans and credits. The plan sets how many questions are read and the credits included; the crew spends credits as it works, up to the monthly budget you set.

### Does a bigger contractor always win the answer?

Not on the questions that name a place and a scale. Most construction firms are small, and an assistant answering 'who does this here' looks for a firm whose pages say exactly that.
