**In short:** AthenaHQ is an AI search platform that meters tracking in credits, one credit per AI response, across up to eleven models, with a content agent and on-page and off-page actions for your team. Attensira's credits pay for work instead: its crew ships fixes and placements after your approval and measures each change.

## Verdict

AthenaHQ and Attensira both sell credits and both talk about action, which makes them easy to confuse. AthenaHQ's credits buy answers read across many models, plus agent features your team operates. Attensira's credits buy work the crew does and you approve.

## What is Attensira?

Attensira is software that does your AI-search visibility work: whatever it takes to win the answer.

Where AthenaHQ's credits meter prompts read and actions suggested, Attensira's plan covers the reading and its credits pay for finished work: draft pages, pitches and replies the crew ships after your approval and then measures.

## What is AthenaHQ?

An AI search platform priced in credits, one credit per AI response, from a free tier to an eleven-model Starter plan. It adds competitor insights, content recommendations, a content optimization agent and on-page and off-page actions.

## Where is AthenaHQ better than Attensira?

Choose AthenaHQ when you want the widest model coverage at a published price, a free tier to start, and agent features your own team will run.

## When should you choose Attensira?

Choose Attensira when you want the SEO work carried out for you, shipped into your own repository or CMS only after your yes, and judged afterwards by a before-and-after on the same questions.

## When is neither the right choice?

Neither fits a team whose real problem is one wrong fact repeated from a single outdated directory listing. Correcting that listing is one email, not a subscription to either kind of credit.

## What sets Attensira and AthenaHQ apart?

- AthenaHQ's credit is one AI response read; Attensira's credit is a unit of agent work. Two products that both say "credits" are metering opposite things, measurement on one side and work on the other.
- AthenaHQ lists eleven models on Starter, the widest list of any product in this comparison set at a published price; Attensira reads fewer engines and spends its budget acting on them.
- AthenaHQ's pricing page names actions and a content agent without saying where they publish or who approves; Attensira's documentation names both, a draft pull request or CMS draft and a person's yes in every mode for claims.

## Who do engines offer when a buyer asks for AthenaHQ alternatives?

## Who do AI engines list as the best GEO tools?

"Best GEO tools" is one of the questions we track. On 3 October 2026 ChatGPT answered it with eight tools: Profound, Peec AI, Otterly.ai, Scrunch AI, Semrush, Ahrefs, AthenaHQ and Frase. It described AthenaHQ as a "good middle ground between monitoring and optimization". Attensira was not on the list.

From 21 September to 4 October 2026, ChatGPT and Perplexity gave 3,534 answers to the 61 questions we track. AthenaHQ was named or linked in 361 of the 3,666 competitor readings in that window. Attensira was named in 197 answers, every one on the three questions that already contain our name. AthenaHQ is in the answer to "best GEO tools"; we are not yet. That is the baseline, and the crew this page describes is working against it on our own site.

## What does AthenaHQ sell?

AthenaHQ, which calls itself Athena, prices everything in credits, and its pricing page says plainly what a credit is: one AI response. On 4 October 2026 it listed three plans.

- **Essential**, free: 300 credits, described as $25 of value, across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot, with unlimited members, competitor insights, content recommendations and the Athena AI agent.

- **Starter**, $295 a month: 3,600 credits a month across eleven models, including AI Mode, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral; integrations, CSV export, a content optimization agent and on-page and off-page actions. API access is a paid add-on. Annual billing takes 17% off.

- **Enterprise**, custom: negotiated credits, a knowledge base, discrepancy detection, SSO, audit logs, multi-region support and a recommendation engine, with white-glove setup.

So AthenaHQ is more than a tracker. It has a content agent and it names actions, on your pages and off them. That makes it one of the closer products to Attensira on paper, and it is why the details matter.

## What does "credit" mean on each side?

Both companies charge in credits, and the word hides the most important difference between them.

On AthenaHQ, a credit buys a reading: one AI response. Starter's 3,600 credits a month are 3,600 answers read. Spend them on more prompts or more models and you see more; the credits measure how much you watch.

On Attensira, a credit buys work. The plan fee covers monitoring and includes a monthly allowance of credits for agent work; agents spend credits as they research, write, fix and pitch; a monthly budget you set caps what the work can be charged; and committed work we do not deliver is credited back on the first of the month. Reading numbers you already have never spends a credit. The section below states our current plan and credits from the same source as our pricing page.

If you compare the two plans credit for credit you will get a meaningless answer. Compare what each bill buys: answers read, or work done.

## Where does AthenaHQ come out ahead?

**Model coverage at a published price.** Eleven models on a self-serve plan, including Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral, is the widest published list in this comparison. The engines row above shows what we read; if your buyers use surfaces outside it, AthenaHQ reads them and we do not.

**A free way to start.** Essential costs nothing and reads five models. Our free audit is a one-off reading; AthenaHQ's free plan keeps going until the credits run out.

**Enterprise breadth.** SSO, audit logs, a knowledge base and multi-region support are listed on AthenaHQ's Enterprise plan. Our public plan documentation does not list those controls.

**Teams that want to run agents themselves.** AthenaHQ's agent and actions are tools for your team. If you have people who want that control, AthenaHQ gives it to them.

## Where does Attensira come out ahead?

Attensira is an AI-native SEO agency run by software: the service of an SEO agency at the price of a tool. Its advantage is not that it has agents, because AthenaHQ has one too. It is that its agents are a crew that carries the work all the way to your site, under rules you can read.

**The work lands somewhere you control.** On a site in a Git repository, a fix is a pull request, opened as a draft by default, on a branch used once, never pushed twice. On Webflow or WordPress, it is an unpublished draft in your own editor. A new article goes to a pull request, a CMS or Notion draft, or a copy to paste. AthenaHQ's pricing page names actions but does not say where they publish.

**Nothing leaves without your yes.** Workspaces start in Draft, where nothing leaves the workspace until you approve it. You can let hygiene work, such as structured data and alt text, go out on its own in Act mode, but anything that states a claim, a price, a number, a competitor's name, waits for a person in every mode. AthenaHQ's pricing page does not describe an approval rule.

**Every change is judged.** When a change ships, the crew reads the same questions at +7, +14 and +30 days and compares them with the week before, stating how many answers each verdict rests on. "No change" and "too close to call" are verdicts too.

**The off-site work is ordered.** The crew starts with pages an engine already cites for your question that name a competitor and not you, because the engine has already decided it trusts them. Pitches go from your own mailbox. Replies to cited Reddit or Hacker News threads are drafted for you to post.

### Whose pages shape the answer to “AthenaHQ alternatives”?

AthenaHQ's own answers site leads, ahead of rivals' alternatives posts. AthenaHQ runs a site of answers, and engines read it. Attensira's pages are not read for this question yet; earning a place on pages like these is the off-site work the crew does.

## Do eleven models beat fewer, deeper readings?

Sometimes, and it is worth being precise about when. Coverage answers the question "where do my buyers ask?". If a meaningful share of your buyers use Grok or Meta AI, a tool that reads them sees something a narrower tool cannot, and no amount of depth makes up for a surface that is never read.

Depth answers a different question: "did this answer really change?". AI answers vary from one asking to the next, so a rate built on a single reading per day swings on noise. That is why our larger plans read each question three times per reading, why every verdict carries its sample size, and why a change that sits inside the noise is reported as no change rather than a win.

With a fixed budget, every product trades one for the other. AthenaHQ's credit model lets you choose the trade yourself, spending responses on more models or more prompts. Attensira's plans fix the engines and sampling and put the rest of the money into work. Neither is wrong; they are answers to different questions, and the right one depends on whether you are still mapping the territory or already know where you are losing.

## What happens in the first week with each?

With AthenaHQ's free plan you set up prompts, spend credits reading answers across five models and get competitor insights and content recommendations. On Starter, the agent and actions come in. How much changes on your site depends on your team.

With Attensira, on day one the crew reads your site, drafts your business profile and takes a first reading of every question you track. By the end of week one you see your lost answers ranked, and the first finished pieces of work are waiting for your approval.

## How should you decide?

Ask yourself what you would do with 3,600 more answers a month. If the honest answer is "learn exactly where we stand on every model, and give the team a sharper brief", AthenaHQ is built for that and does it at a published price. If the honest answer is "know even more precisely what nobody has time to fix", the next answer is not more readings. It is the work.

It also helps to ask both vendors the same question on a call: when your agent proposes a change to my site, where does it go, who approves it, and how will I know if it worked? Our answers are in the public documentation linked from the sources on this page, and we would expect any vendor to give you theirs in writing.

## Can you use both?

You can. Some teams will want AthenaHQ's eleven-model readings and Attensira's crew working the questions that matter most. The two do not share data, and you would be paying twice to read some of the same answers. If you already pay for AthenaHQ and your actions list keeps growing faster than your team can work it, that is the moment to bring the same prompts to Attensira.

## How did we check this page?

AthenaHQ's facts come from athenahq.ai/pricing, fetched on 4 October 2026 and cited cell by cell below. Attensira's facts come from docs.attensira.com, with our prices, credits and engines rendered from the same source as our pricing page. Answer counts and the ChatGPT and Perplexity readings come from our Attensira workspace for attensira.com, read through the Attensira MCP. AthenaHQ's model list and credit allowances are the facts most likely to change; we re-read them every quarter.

## FAQ

### How is Attensira different from AthenaHQ?

AthenaHQ is an AI search platform that tracks up to eleven models on credits, with a free tier, a content optimization agent and on-page and off-page actions for your team. Attensira is an AI-native SEO agency run by software whose crew does the SEO work, ships it after your approval and measures each change.

### How much does AthenaHQ cost?

On 4 October 2026 AthenaHQ listed a free Essential plan with 300 credits, described as $25 of value, and Starter at $295 a month with 3,600 credits, where one credit is one AI response. Enterprise was custom. Annual billing carried a 17% discount.

### Are AthenaHQ credits the same as Attensira credits?

No. On AthenaHQ one credit is one AI response, so credits meter how much you measure. On Attensira a credit is a unit of agent work (1 credit = 1¢): Starter includes 300 a month, agents spend them as they work, and reading numbers you already have never spends one.

### Does AthenaHQ do the work too?

AthenaHQ lists a content optimization agent and on-page and off-page actions on Starter, so it does more than measure. Its pricing page does not say where those actions land or who approves them. Attensira's crew ships to your repository or CMS as drafts, waits for your yes, and re-reads the answers afterwards.

### Which tracks more AI engines?

AthenaHQ, on paper: Starter lists eleven models, including Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral. Attensira reads ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Google AI, with ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI on Starter, and Copilot and DeepSeek coming but not read yet.

### Is there a free way to try each?

AthenaHQ's Essential plan is free with 300 credits. Attensira has a 7-day free trial, card required on Starter, and a free audit that asks four engines eight buying questions about your category without a plan.
