**In short:** The closest Semrush alternatives for AI search are Ahrefs, with Brand Radar for AI answers, SE Ranking and Moz Pro, which put AI prompt tracking inside an SEO suite, and Otterly.AI or Profound for dedicated AI tracking. Choose Attensira when you want the SEO work done, not another suite: agents research, write and fix, and you approve.

## Who do AI engines name for Semrush alternatives for AI search?

Across 117 answers to that question between 7 September and 3 October, ChatGPT and Perplexity named Semrush itself in 115 and Ahrefs in 98. Attensira was named in none; engines know these tools well, which is a reading of fame, not of fit.

| Name | Mention rate · count of 117 answers |
| --- | --- |
| Semrush | 115 |
| Ahrefs | 98 |
| Profound | 83 |
| Peec AI | 78 |
| Otterly AI | 73 |
| SE Ranking | 68 |
| Attensira | 0 |

### What do AI engines answer for "Semrush alternatives for AI search"?

We track this question in our own workspace. From 7 September to 3 October 2026 we read 117 answers, 54 from ChatGPT and 63 from Perplexity. Semrush was named in 115, Ahrefs in 98, Profound in 83, Peec AI in 78, Otterly.AI in 73 and SE Ranking in 68. Attensira was named in none.

The two engines read the question differently, and that is the most useful thing in the data. ChatGPT treated "for AI search" as the point: Profound and Peec AI were in every one of its 54 answers, and Scrunch in most. Perplexity treated it as an SEO question with an AI flavour. The answer at the top of this page is typical of it: SE Ranking, Ahrefs, Moz Pro, Clearscope, Surfer, Similarweb, Ubersuggest, Serpstat, Raven Tools and Sistrix, almost all of them SEO suites. Perplexity's answers drew heavily on SE Ranking's own blog and HubSpot's.

So the answer your buyer gets depends on where they ask. If you sell to people who use both engines, you need to be on both kinds of list, and the pages that decide each are different.

### What does Semrush do well for AI search?

It puts AI prompts where SEO teams already work. The same project holds keywords, backlinks, site audits and AI answers, and the AI module explains how answers describe a brand and which pages they draw on. For a team that lives in Semrush, adding AI prompts there is the path of least resistance, and the free trial makes it cheap to test.

The limits are the shape of a module inside a suite. Starter's 50 prompts a day sit beside 500 keywords, which tells you how the plan is weighted. More prompts mean a bigger plan. And like every tool on this list except one, Semrush tells you what to do; it does not do it.

### Which alternative fits which team?

**The team that wants a suite, just not Semrush.** Ahrefs is the natural move for teams who rely on backlink data; Brand Radar adds AI answer research and tracking, priced separately. SE Ranking gives more AI prompts on its entry plan, a 14-day trial without a card and white label for agencies. Moz Pro has a published US price and 150 prompts on Standard, read weekly rather than daily.

**The team that keeps Semrush and adds AI depth.** Otterly.AI is the cheap way to read AI answers daily, built for that job alone. Profound is the enterprise way, with up to nine engines and agents your team can run.

**The team that wants the work done.** Semrush, Ahrefs, Moz and the AI trackers all stop at the finding. Attensira starts there. A crew of AI agents reads the answers and Search Console, finds why you lose, and does the work: articles, fixes to pages you already have, pitches to the sites the answers cite, Google Ads campaigns drafted for approval. Each piece waits in your inbox until you say yes.

### How do you compare suite prices with AI tool prices?

Suites price by projects, keywords and seats, and add AI prompts as an allowance. AI trackers price by prompts and engines. Attensira prices a plan for monitoring that includes credits for agent work, and you set a monthly budget for the work beyond that.

Compare them on the job, not the line item. Decide the 50 or 100 prompts that matter, the engines your buyers use and how often you need a reading, then cost each tool for that. For a suite you will also pay for keyword tracking you may already have. For a tracker you will pay nothing for keywords but may pay per engine. For Attensira, the cost of the work sits in the same bill as the tracking, capped by your budget, and work that is not delivered is not charged.

A note on currency: Semrush, Ahrefs and SE Ranking showed us prices in pounds sterling when we read them, so that is what this page quotes. Prices in dollars or euros may differ; open each page to see your own.

### What changes when the SEO work is done for you?

Picture a normal month with a suite. The audit flags thin pages, the keyword report shows a competitor gaining, the AI module shows answers naming three rivals. Someone writes a brief, someone writes the page, someone asks a developer to fix the template, someone emails a blogger. Most months, half of it waits.

With Attensira the same findings become work items in one inbox, already done to draft. A rewrite of the thin page, as a draft pull request on GitHub or a draft in your CMS. A new article answering the question the AI answers keep getting wrong. A pitch to the blogger, written for you to send from your mailbox. A reply to the Reddit thread that decides the answer, for you to post. You read each one, edit it if you want, and approve it. Nothing goes out on its own, and anything that states a price, a number or a competitor name always waits for you.

### What does Attensira read from Google, beside the AI answers?

Two records, kept day by day. The first is Search Console: clicks, impressions and average position per page and per query, for your own site. On first connection Attensira pulls the whole sixteen months Google keeps, oldest day first, and stores every day after that, so your history keeps growing past Google's own window. The second is rank tracking: where your site ranks for a list of Google searches, read once a day, with who else is on the page and whether Google showed an AI Overview.

Both sit beside the AI answers in the same workspace, so you can see a page's Google numbers and its AI citations together. That is not a replacement for a keyword database, but it covers the part of a suite most teams open every week: how are our own pages doing, and did the change we made move anything.

### Which prompts should a Semrush user track first?

Start from what you already have. Your Semrush keyword list shows the searches you compete on; the AI version of each is usually a question a buyer would ask before choosing. "crm for small agencies" becomes "what is the best CRM for a small agency?". "project tool pricing" becomes "which project management tools publish their pricing?".

Pick twenty to fifty of those, the ones where being named would change a deal. Add three or four prompts that compare you with named rivals, because those are where buyers end up. Then leave out prompts nobody types; a long list of generated phrasings makes your rates look precise and your decisions worse. Whichever tool you choose, this list is the asset, and it moves with you.

### How do Google rankings and AI answers relate?

They overlap more for some engines than others. Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode draw on Google's own index, so ranking well on a query helps you be cited on it. ChatGPT and Perplexity search the web their own way and lean on pages they trust for a topic, often comparison articles, review sites and forum threads. In our own readings for this question, Perplexity's answers drew on SE Ranking's and HubSpot's blogs, while ChatGPT's drew on vendor sites and newer comparison pages. Neither copied Google's top ten.

So a suite that reports rankings tells you part of the story. The rest is in the sources each engine cites, which is why Attensira reads the sources behind every answer and works on them directly.

### Whose pages build the answer to Semrush's own replacement question?

On ChatGPT, mostly Semrush's own. On Perplexity, SE Ranking's and HubSpot's articles. A suite that publishes about its own alternatives shapes the answer a leaving customer gets, which is worth knowing before you trust that answer.

### Should you keep Semrush if you add Attensira?

Often, yes. If your team does its own keyword research, link analysis or competitive research in Semrush, that work does not go away. Attensira does not replace a research database; it replaces the hours between a finding and a change. The decision is about the hours you have.

### How was this list made?

Every price, plan and allowance was read from each vendor's own pricing page on 4 October 2026, and each fact links to its page below. No vendor was contacted. The answer counts come from our own tracked prompt, read through the Attensira MCP for the attensira.com workspace. The order ranks how directly each tool replaces Semrush for a team that cares about AI answers. Attensira is our product and lists its own shortfalls.

### When is Attensira the wrong choice?

When what you need is data: keyword volumes, backlink profiles, rank tracking across thousands of terms. Attensira is not that tool. When your team turns findings into work every week without falling behind, you need a better data source, not more hands. And when you need white label for client reports from day one, it is not on a plan sold today. Attensira is for the team where the findings outrun the hours, and that wants the service of an SEO agency at the price of a tool.

## FAQ

### What is the best Semrush alternative for AI search?

Ahrefs if you want to stay in a data suite and add Brand Radar for AI answers. SE Ranking if you want more AI prompts per pound in a cheaper suite. Otterly.AI if you keep Semrush and add a dedicated AI tracker. Attensira if you want the SEO work done for you, in Google and in AI answers, and approved by you.

### Does Semrush track ChatGPT and other AI answers?

Yes. Its pricing page lists AI prompt tracking on the plans called SEO + AI Search, 50 prompts a day on Starter, 100 on Pro+ and 200 on Advanced. The prompts sit beside the keyword allowance in the same suite.

### Is SE Ranking cheaper than Semrush?

On the pages we read on 4 October 2026, in pounds, SE Ranking's first SEO + GEO plan was £95 a month with 100 daily prompts, and Semrush Starter was £161 a month with 50. Both offer a trial; SE Ranking's runs 14 days with no card.

### Can Attensira replace Semrush?

Not as a keyword or backlink database, and it does not try to. It replaces the work a team does after reading Semrush, writing, fixing pages, earning placements, drafting Google Ads, and measures what each change did. Many teams will keep a suite for research and use Attensira for the work.

### Why do ChatGPT and Perplexity give different Semrush alternatives?

They read the question differently. In our readings ChatGPT named Profound and Peec AI in every one of its 54 answers, treating the question as about AI trackers, while Perplexity leaned towards SEO suites such as SE Ranking, Moz Pro and Sistrix. Track both if your buyers use both.
